The cloudes were dark grey already before we got out with Ebba, but in the middle of the walk they opened up too. The rain poured down and thunder began. Before we got home these larg hail fell down on us. Ebba was not happy at all with them as they got in her eyes, and we all ran home to get shelter. Later on our patio it was kind of interesting to watch nature roam for a while.

There is a castle about 20 minutes by car outside of Linköping, and each year they arrange a medieveal fair there, complete with knights and horses. Grandma decided to take Linus there and Daniel and I joined in. Here we are, waiting for the tournament to start.
And the knights ride in on their beautiful horses!
There were lots of games making up the tournament.
Here is the castle; Ekenäs castle.
Linus trying out the bow and arrows at the fair. He got help with the first one, but then he was on his own. Here he is aiming very carefully.

A friend I studied with at the university came to visit us as he was in town on work. We had a nice evening talking, eating good food and drinking fine drinks. He brought these two rare whiskys, and we had a little tasting before dinner. It was really fun to try them, they were both delicious even though I think my favourite was the 25 year old Brora.

We went for a walk in the wonderful sunshine. Here is my uncle, Daniel and my dad on the little bridge, overlooking a pretty upset swan. The swan has a partner and eggs on an island in the lake, and it was trying to scare Ebba away.
We went to a little village 15 kilometers outside of Linköping in the afternoon, to stroll around the canal- and lock-area. This is Göta Canal and it runs from the ocean on the west coast through Sweden to the eastern coast, passing 58 locks and the two largest lakes on its way.

Linus has been using training wheels on his bike up until now. For those of you who remember, he got a kick bike for birthday. After practicing his balance on the kick bike for a couple of weeks he just jumped on the bike without the training wheels last week at his mothers. Today it was time to try on the bike he has at us, and it worked fantastic here too. He is such a big boy, riding without training wheels! =D
As Ebba was looking kind of strange on the picture above, I'll give you a pic from our morning walk as well. To me this is the most beautiful girl in the world, but I might be a bit biased...

I'm a little late with these pictures, but here they are anyway; more nature photos. We walked with Ebba to the bird lakes and saw a beautiful swan. His mate were building on a very large nest on a little island, and he had to keep us far away from there. As we were not planning to have a swim that day he had no problem with his mission.
If you don't like snakes, do not click on the picture above! It displays a black European viper that we met while walking back home, and it is quite detailed. Ebba and I went a long way around it, while Daniel brought the camera closer. The viper wasn't happy with that and hissed loudly.

These photos are courtesy of Daniel, as he was the one picking up the camera and heading for another visit in our little forest. Some neighbors talked about an owl in a tree there, and when walking with Ebba today we past right beneath it. We saw them (there are at least two owls in the tree), but they hid almost right away.
Here is a closer look of the little fella.
