March 25, 2011

Last day before heading home again, and a visit to a lion park before work. This giraffe was very happy to have a snack.

And she also loved to cuddle.

A 5 1/2 month old lion cub, enjoying to be petted. The other one is a white lion cub.

Lucky they are kind, the paws are huge!

These were to be seen from a safe distance.

Work on Thursday included a site visit to Pretoria, and there were also a little time for daylight sightseeing. This is the Union Buildings.

There were a wonderful garden surrounding the place.

Two work colleagues, Miklos and Tamas, and Daniel, having a braai (barbecue) at the apartments where they stayed.

Dinner at big game restaurant Carnivore.

It is a little hard to see, but the big game menu of the day consists of venison meat balls and sausages, zebra, gemsbok, impala and crocodile.

March 22, 2011

Work all day, and then out for dinner at night, visiting Nelson Mandela Square.

March 21, 2011

The Airbus 380 to take Daniel from Paris to Johannesburg. It should have left on Sunday night, but due to some delays it got re-scheduled for Monday morning.

Flying over the French alps.

March 20, 2011

This weeks photos will be from Daniels business-trip to Johannesburg, South Africa.

While Linus and I got into the car and drew home from the airport, Daniel checked in again. He met up with our Mexican friend Jaime, who were on his way to Madrid to further explore Europe.

March 19, 2011

We stayed at the Radisson Blu, and it has quite an impressive exterior!

View from outside the Main station.

We went early to the airport to be able to participate in their guided airport tour. It was fascinating to ride the bus so close to the large aircrafts, but unfortunately we could only see the main attraction, the Airbus 380, from a distance.

We were very happily surprised when we later rode the bus to our flight and met with this giant of the skies. Linus was thrilled to have seen the "worlds largest airplane" up close!

It was a fun weekend (if we don't count in the loss of the camera), and during the last flight from Copenhagen to Stockholm Linus was fast asleep. Daniel had to carry him off the plane as he didn't woke up even when we landed.

These photos are taken with the Canon Ixus 130 that I carried in my pocket for snapshots.

March 18, 2011

I'm sorry for being a lousy commenter right now. I came down with some kind of flu after our trip, and everything takes forever to accomplish.

So, here are some of the photos that were left after the trip. We began Friday with a visit to the Senckenberg Naturmuseum. It was very interesting, and they had a cool exhibition with dinosaur skeletons. Very impressive.

We continued with lunch at the restaurant Die Kuh die lacht, and had delicious hamburgers.

Daniel and Linus outside the underground station, and in front of the Hauptwache.

At the underground, waiting for the train to the Zoo. I think these photos are the ones I am most sorry for have lost. The Zoo was very beautiful, and it was so exciting to visit a Zoo when it is not summer-time. Lots of the animals were inside, and you got great close-up views from them.

The most impressive was the Giraffes; I've never stood so close to them on the ground, looking up at the heads. Also the house of the night-active animals was fascinating. Hope we can go here again!

Then we continued to the Main Tower for a view of the city. The weather was a little grey, but a lot warmer than we have at home, so it was rather pleasant walking around.

Daniel and Linus, just a block away from Main Tower.

At night we checked in at the Radisson Blu. After all the fuss with reporting the loss of the camera, we decided to not let this ruin the trip completely, so we had a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Here we are, on the plane between Arlanda, Stockholm, and Kastrup, Copenhagen. This is Linus' first flight ever, and he was really exited.

And here we are at Kastrup, in front of the airplane that about two hours late took us to Frankfurt.

Angelica, it would have been fun to meet, but this was a rather short trip, mostly for Linus to fly. We booked on bonus points, arrived in Frankfurt late Thursday, had Friday in town, and then went home on Saturday.

Although, it was a rather eventful trip, and very sadly we lost our DSLR camera and with that the memory cards. The only photos we have left are the few taken with the P&S camera. As we really liked Frankfurt we might go back to capture those photos again, and that time I'll let you know! =)

March 16, 2011

Dinner at Daniels parents in Ã…tvidaberg, together with Jaime. We took Zelda with us, as she is going to stay during the weekend, while Daniel, Linus and I travel to Frankfurt, Germany.

What to say... we had pasta for dinner, that's Linus absolute favourite food. But I have now idea what is up with the funny face. :P

March 14, 2011

Daniel is trimming Ebba's claws. She doesn't like it, and is normally very cautious about here paws, but she is completely still as she trusts him totally.

March 13, 2011

A morning walk to the bird lakes close by. The weather was grey, but a couple of degrees on the warm side.

March 12, 2011

A friend of the family, visiting all the way from Mexico. Jaime stayed with us in town for the weekend, and we did some bar-hopping on Saturday night.

March 11, 2011

Visiting Daniels parents for dinner. I forgot to take any pictures while we were seated, but this is one from the beautifully decorated hallway. It is so nice with the soft colors.

March 10, 2011

This is our little chili-plant, that is placed indoors for the winter. It has already started to bloom, so soon we'll get small piri piri from it.

March 9, 2011

This is Tamas, a colleague from Hungary, and Daniel. Tamas has been working at our office for a couple of weeks, and as he is going back home again at the end of this week, we decided to take him out for a drink.

March 8, 2011

It has been a little warmer for a couple of days, which makes the roads where we walk Ebba really icy and slippery. I love that the sun is still up when we walk her after work.

March 7, 2011

Zelda and Ebba sleeping side by side in the sofa.

March 6, 2011

Zelda is enjoying the sunshine on the glassed patio. She is not very fond of winter, but this is a perfect mix of being outdoor while still having it warm and cozy.

March 5, 2011

Happy Birthday daddy! It was a very relaxed day with some presents and some cake and lots of family. Here is Daniel, my brothers wife Lina and my mother doing a puzzle, while dad and my uncle are watching the TV.

March 4, 2011

This is Isla, my sweet niece and daughter to my brother and his wife.

March 3, 2011

We are visiting my parents this weekend to celebrate my dads birthday, so I decided to bake some cupcakes to bring along. I'll decorate them with frosting when we get there.

Ebba loves to sleep in the sofa behind me when I sit at the computer, preferably with her head on a pillow. This is really Ebba's sofa.

March 1, 2011

Evening bath and play with foam can be incredible funny!
