Day 342

I have finally taken the Swine flu shot. Everyone who wants it gets it for free in Sweden, and there has been lots of confusion about how it will be distributed, and long queues at those locations when the vaccine finally arrived.

We live quite nearby one of those locations, so I took my bike there. And I was very lucky as it was no queue at all! It all went smooth, and I was soon out the door again. My arm got a little soar, but that is very common.

  1. Hi sweetie, after a very long time I'm here again. Sorry that I'm such a bad blogger at the moment :(

In Germany you also get the shot against Swine flu for free and the confusion about this vaccination is also big here.
Everyone has to come to a decision on its own to get the shot or not.
I think Lilli got this flu 2 weeks ago and nobody else of our family (thanks God!!) was infected with this virus too, even though we didn't take the vaccination.

  2. congratulations!! we are planning to get it next week...and i heard of the long queues...i just hope my kids will be patient enough. some people are reluctant to get it because of some bad publicity here. i did consult my doctor if it is safe to get it and she said better to get it..so we will be going.
nice how you took the shot, i can see you put your camera on your shoulder...hahaha.

  3. we decided not to make the vaccination. I think the swine flue isn´t as serious at the moment as the normal flue.

Years ago my elder son and I had the normal flue and that was horrific for 3 weeks. This year I think my younger son had the swine flue and he only was ill for a few days.

And as Misola said nobody else was infected from him.

We are having the vaccination for the normal flue because that is a well tested one in marked contrast to the swine flue. And I didn´t want to be a test object for the pharmaceutical industry.

Nobody is speaking about thousands who are dying every year in fact of the normal flue but every newspaper makes a horror scenario when two persons are dying in fact of the swine flue.

Hope everthing is being well after your vaccination Erika!!

  5. I haven't gotten any flu shots, swine or regular. I never get the flu (knock on wood). Hope you've recovered from your shot.
